The Heart Of The Home

I'm a believer that change is good. Well...... a whole lot of change has been happening at our new/old house on the Cape in South Florida.

To me, the heart of the home is the kitchen, our 1995 pink and white kitchen was in dire need of a major change.

So we started at the heart of this home, white appliances were donated to charity, white cabinets were re purposed for DBH's workshop, and construction debris was hauled away to the construction landfill.

Though not big, the kitchen had great bones, high ceilings, open concept, and a big water view to the canal. Six weeks from start to finish, we finally had our new kitchen with a big new heart.

DBH picked out the color (brown/black)and Shaker style for the cabinets, though it was a bit out of my decorating "comfort zone", my mantra is "Change is good".

I picked out the granite counter top and tile back splash. Counter tops no problem, white cashmere granite. The tile back splash has proven to be a bit trickier for me to find. DBH patiently awaits my decision.

Next change on the list is the master bathroom, with it's head knocker arch and cultured pink seashell double sink vanity. Stay tuned on how this ugly goose was transformed into an eye stopper retreat.

Change is good, Karla
